17 December 2018Westminster’s October agendas were once again dominated by discussions on the value and impact of the UK’s relationship with Saudi Arabia. This month, it was of course in the context of the disappearance and alleged murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
14 November 2018Little time was spent in parliament in September, as the parties picked up and moved out for their annual conferences. September also saw the first deployment of additional British troops to NATO’s mission in Afghanistan. This deployment was designated as a “non-combat” mission and, as a result, will not be exposed to the same scrutiny that combat missions face.
