In Gok-Machar, unemployment is a huge problem that can force some young people into illegal means to earn money, impacting people’s security and safety. To address this issue, we worked together with the Community Initiative for Partnership and Development and the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei to increase work opportunities for young people.
16 February 2021The conflict that erupted in Juba, South Sudan in July 2016 had devastating effects on people’s lives - especially their sense of peace and security. Four years since the conflict, there was still no functioning police station in Juba’s Gudele Block 9, adding to the insecurity. Reopening a police station has helped communities in the area restore peace and security among many residents.
