Saferworld in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has made steady progress under a number of the Millennium Development Goals, but its foundations for long-term stability still remain uncertain. Underlying challenges to the rule of law remain, especially around public security and access to justice, and the ongoing political crises have the potential to escalate into further widespread violence if their root causes are not addressed.

Saferworld has been working to promote security and justice in Bangladesh since 2006. We work on issues of conflict mitigation and community security with international, national, district and community-level stakeholders. Our goal is to ensure greater citizen participation in preventing and transforming conflict, and building peaceful and stable societies so that all Bangladeshis are able to lead fulfilling lives without insecurity and injustice.

This leaflet looks at the projects we have worked on with communities in Bangladesh, as well as our partnership with BRAC.
