Community-based policing
Example training materials
As one of the main providers of security, the police play a pivotal role in creating the conditions in which development can take place.
Saferworld has been working with Governments and civil society to develop an approach to policing that brings together the police, civil society and local communities to develop local solutions to local safety and security concerns – this approach is called community-based policing (CBP).
The training materials provide a toolbox for training and improving understanding on CBP. The pack includes case studies, lesson units, handouts, PowerPoint presentations, trainers’ notes and a CD on the following:
- Introduction to CBP Society and community
- Partnership policing Crime prevention
- Legal and human rights
- Strategic management
