Wunlit peace meeting: a shared vision for peace

In the spirit of the 1999 Wunlit Peace Conference, which laid the foundation for an end to the second Sudanese civil war in 2005, Saferworld and partners brought together people across Warrap, Lakes and Unity States in South Sudan. They discussed the contentious issues of cattle rustling, revenge killing, girl ‘elopement’ and abductions, land disputes, arms in the hands of civilians, misinformation, and hate speech.

In this briefing you can read recommendations from participants at the meeting on how communities can peacefully resolve disputes across boundaries.
