Tackling conflict drivers for peace and security in Warrap state, South Sudan
The end of the second Sudanese civil war in 2005 did not see the end of violent conflict in Warrap State, South Sudan. Conflicts have worsened people’s lives and many have been forced to leave their homes and seek sanctuary in neighbouring communities.
This briefing – based on an inter-county dialogue we held in Kuajok last year – explores conflict, peace, security and gender-based violence concerns in Warrap State. The event brought together over 40 people from government, authorities, NGOs, civil society organisations and youth and women leaders. The briefing also recommends how to tackle the issues identified by participants during the event.
