A year out from elections in the UK, the media is full of images of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, migration and displacement, or alarming narratives about China and climate change. The UK public knows that it’s important to deal with these impending crises, so it is vital that whichever party wins the 2024 election must re-envision conflict prevention and build new partnerships in a pragmatic way.
To build a future-facing foreign and security policy regime, the UK must improve its approach to conflict. In this briefing, we offer five recommendations for UK politicians to consider.
