Civil society voices on Sudan’s economic reforms – Paris Conference, 17 May 2021

On 17 May 2021, France hosted the Paris Conference, marking a new era for economic reform in Sudan. The Conference sought to reintegrate Sudan and its economy to the international stage after decades of isolation. Yet the views of civil society were not included at the main event.

Ahead of the Conference, Saferworld held consultations with Sudanese civil society on their economic priorities for the future of the country. This briefing captures their perspectives and recommendations, and was shared with Sudanese civil society, donors and international actors.
