CSW69 Webinar | Women Leading Peace: shifting power and resources
13 March 2025Feminist movements and women’s rights organisations (WROs) are at the forefront of advancing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. However, they continue to face structural barriers, such as limited access to funding, shrinking civic spaces and gender backlash.
This learning exchange was held at an event (held both in-person in New York and online) on 20 March 2025 at CSW69 – 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. It reflected on the role of WROs in promoting peace and gender equality in conflict contexts. It also explored what it means to localise the WPS agenda in practice; how we can best collaborate with local women peacebuilders and groups to ensure they lead on their self-identified priorities; and if donors and decision-makers are aligned with this approach.
