Join our webinar on 'Islamic-based Approaches to Security and Justice Reforms'
26 June 2023Join Asal Consulting and Saferworld on Thursday 6 July from 11.00 AM – 12.00 PM BST (UTC+1) for a webinar on 'Islamic-based Approaches to Security and Justice Reforms’, drawing on lessons from participatory research conducted in Baidoa, Kismayo and Mogadishu, Somalia between October and December 2022.
This research – part of the Nabadgelinta Soomaaliya programme – explores the ways in which Islamic principles and faith actors, including women scholars, shape discourses around security and justice today. The study’s rich findings reflect the unique perspectives of historically marginalised groups in Somalia and shed light on how these groups use Islamic-based approaches to effect inclusive and localised security and justice reforms.
This webinar presents a valuable opportunity to gain insights from our research and engage in meaningful discussions on the pivotal role of Islam in navigating complex security and justice dilemmas.
